It is currently open according to the official website, even though Google has it marked as closed.
The hike can be a little rough with how much elevation gain there is. But once you descend into the canyon where the creek and campground is. Absolutely beautiful with plenty of shade, lots of big rocks to sit on, and the creek is running quite well. Will definitely return here again.
