I’ve just recently tried out car camping, and this campground was the first place I went to. I’ve been here twice now.
I will say between the freeway, the trains and all the training from Camp Pendleton, there is a fair bit of noise, out of the three, the train was the most annoying.
I chose this campground as it was the only one that is near the beach and had an availability at the time.
Once you’re on the beach, you won’t hear any of those noises, so enjoy!
I recommend getting a spot close to restrooms and a trail that takes you down to the beach, it is a little walk down, but the views make it worth it.
