This was a great spot for us as first timers! Every site is drive-through and the dump station is simple to use. It is super affordable, clean and quiet, too. There are no frills, and only simple water and electric hook-ups, so this is not a resort. While not a wilderness camp either, there are beautiful view of the mountains, you're right along the runway for glider flights, and there is good stargazing at night. Train enthusiasts will like the proximity to the Tehachapi Loop museum. Good local wine tasting and micro breweries in town to round out your trip.
