What an amazing campground! First of all, if you’re pulling or driving a camper, you’ll want to come in from the West side of the campground, from the Jamestown side. The road coming in from the East is very treacherous with sharp curves and I wouldn’t want to come in with a camper from that side.
The campground itself is pretty awesome! Not a bad campsite! Very wooded and somewhat spaced apart, which I like. I saw a lot of reviews complain about snakes, but we never saw one.
I didn’t use the shower houses, so I can’t say how they are. There is a decent pool that you have to pay a small fee to use. One or two small playgrounds around the site.
The camp store was a bit disappointing. Very small and just a few minor staples available.
Good hiking trails around the area and good hiking at nearby Pickett State Park! Overall a great experience! Looking forward to the next trip!
