The base itself has been a pleasant surprise with a modern, well-equipped fitness center, super nice tennis court, clean, well-maintained bowling alley, a cafe and a very nice, well-stocked commissary appropriately sized for a smaller base. The campground itself is nothing special, but is safe, quiet (except for highway, but no biggie), has free laundry (2 washing machines and 2 dryers) and the RV hookups work and have good water pressure. The pads are a bit narrow and no tables. We have a 26' trailer and there was barely room to park our truck. We started our stay with one night of dry camping while we waited for our spot to open the next day. This was all the way to the left of the lodging office on a slanted pad, but nice to have. The campground is mostly longterm residents with a few spots for "overnighters." Word of warning, there are a ton of giant sand spurs, so make sure to check your shoes often and don't walk through the medians! Also, cigarette butts are all over the place.
