I took my kids here Christmas morning after wanting to give them an experience instead of just gifts, and we had the best time. The location we visited was called Upper Lee Meadows and it was an incredible spot for sledding with kids of any age. Depending on how far you hike up the slopes you can have a more intense sledding experience or a very mild one. If you visit the area I advise that you arrive early as possible on weekends as you will be turned away if parking capacity is reached. We arrived about 7 am and by the time we left at 11:30 am, cars were being turned away. There is a wooded area immediately to the left of the mountain which had very soft snow so my kids made snow balls and were able to throw snow around. In that same area we found multiple snow men that had been made by previous visitors which gave us great photo ops.
