What a hidden gem! We backpacked here 3 nights with our 2 kids. We hiked the McCorkle trail, as well as little Yosemite. The views at the top above the backpacking camp are breathtaking!! The hike was strenuous, and full of sun. Rock scramble was also cool but covered in poison oak! We saw a large rattle snake there as well. The 2.3 miles to camp was gorgeous- many shades of green, oaks, interesting rock formations.
The backpacking camp was quiet, but we could hear the loud convos coming from Eagle’s aerie.
The visitors center is really well done and informative! The guides there were friendly and knowledgeable.
Little Yosemite was also super fun, watch out for broken glass. It looked like someone had dropped a brown bottle. I would advise wearing shoes.
