This is a favorite campground of mine. BUT, I am not fond of how it is now run. Only 3 or 4 of the 16 or so campsites are available on a first come-first served basis. The remaining sites are for reservation via recreation.gov. During the busy summer months, there is little opportunity for spontaneous use. While there recently, one of the few open sites was taken for 10 days. As per the rules, the user spent one night on site, but then did not use it for the remainder of our time there and obviously was just saving the site for his use in a future time. This is legitimate by the rules, but greatly reduces open availability for others. On a positive note, the two bathrooms were clean and checked daily. But only one had a very limited amount of hand sanitizer available. So, it is a great campground as to location and surroundings, but don't count on finding an open site unless you have reserved in advance.
