Gorgeous ridge-top campsites. Getting here requires driving several miles on gravel roads, but the whole route is completely passable in a small car.
Mid week in August there were numerous lakeside sites to choose from.
Since the Nicolet closed Sevenmile Campground, Morgan Lake seems to be the one place that can rival the ridgetop sites and good spacing and vegetation between sites that Sevenmile offered.
The campground looks to be marked for a major logging operation that could drastically change the appearance of things for a few years while the forest regenerates. As of summer 2022 the cutting hadn't started yet.
Overall, definitely worth a visit.
