We camped here over the Christmas holiday because it’s close to Snowshoe. We had full hook ups, and the owner has done a clever job of insulating the water system so that he can keep it on all year round. We have a 32 foot bumper pull camper, and it was no problem getting into either the campground itself or our campsite. Getting out was a little more difficult because it rained so much that the area where our campsite was in got a little muddy. If it were the summertime, it would be no problem, but in the winter the ground underneath was frozen, so the water soaked into the surface layer and made it harder to get out. but Mr. Gum and his son came right out to help us get out. He also mentioned that they are planning to have a load of gravel brought in to the spot we were in, so it shouldn’t be a problem for future campers

Not having any cell phone service or data was a huge plus for us because it gave our kids a chance to get off their screens and spend time with us playing games and enjoying each other’s company. The first night we stayed, we had clear skies and I have never seen so many stars. This is not a fancy RV park, but it is quiet and safe, and we found the bathroom facility to be clean and well-maintained.

To make a reservation, there is no website, but Mr. Gum always answered the phone when I called, and we were able to make a reservation with no hassle. We would definitely stay here again, and will probably make a trip back here in the fall. The leaves in this area would be unbelievably beautiful.
