Just went to group site 2 this past week. Upon arrival, the site was extremely dirty as if the previous group had left in a rush. I think we found out why a few days later. The bears at this site are no joke. Within 24 hours we had at least 6 visits from the bears (that we know of). Be very vigilant, they are active ALL time of the day, not just at night. Be sure to lock up all of your food and dispose of any garbage. It did seem the bears didn’t look for food aside from at the lockers, where unfortunately one did get some snacks while we were gone during the day on the lake. That night we saw 2 different bears at least 4 times, one time the bear coming up on the group less than 5 feet away. The bears are very bold and are difficult to scare away (car alarms don’t do squat) so make sure you’re armed with some

Bear spray (as a last resort). Because of the bear getting so close around 10pm, some group members left that same evening (3 days earlier than planned) due to the discomfort. The remaining group left the day after, 2 days earlier than planned.

If it weren’t for the bears, this campsite is great. 10/10. But be smart about your food and make sure to have a fire going so you can see your surroundings at night.
