I feel it necessary to write a review for the River Rue RV park. When the Rivera’s owned the park, it certainly was a great place to have your RV parked as a homebase for the summer. We enjoyed many years there, and the neighbors were great, like a family to come back to each year. John worked hard to keep everything looking neat and tidy. If things needed fixing, he would do it, or the retirees who lived there would help. Jane or someone in the store always answered the phone, so you could talk to a real person, Not so anymore !!
We were down there for 10 days the first part of August, parked very close to the store, which was nice. However, the bags of trash that were left for several days, made it an unsightly mess. When we arrived at the park, there was a pile of dead weeds, trash, and tools left in a pile at the end of the tent area. When we left, 10 days later, the mess was still there.
Our site had two potholes that someone could have easily twisted their ankle in— easy fix— add dirt(sand) to fill in holes. Another complaint that should be noted. We had our grand children with us and one day I decided to take them over to the play area. I actually had to go get a plastic sack from the store and pick up a whole, not kidding, bag full of trash that had not been picked up for who knows how long. Really, not that hard to step out of the store and check on play area! Along with all the trash was the rubber pieces that were scattered about also, again, not that hard to put back in play area, it’s called sweeping!
It’s truly a shame because it was such a nice RV park.
I called yesterday, Saturday, to talk to someone about when our boat lease was up. I had to leave a message and 24 hours later, still No return call.
Hate to see a business fail, but things need to change.
The Park was always full of RVs in the summer and plenty of boats in the boat yard. This year, there were lots of open areas in the park and hardly any boats in the yard. When prices skyrocketed good people left.
The bathroom area also needs to be addressed. One of the women’s toilets have not been working for several months.
I believe going directly to the owners and sharing my real concern for the betterment of the park. I love this lake and the park. I tried several days in a row to reach out to them but they weren’t available. I ended up having to call and talk on the phone, which I don’t like, so impersonal. My concern was for them, not me. I could tell owner wasn’t too thrilled when I expressed my concerns.
On a positive note, loved talking to Torrey in the store. She’s a real people person, but, not her job to keep park going, it’s the owners.!!!
