I was just at the beautiful Lake Crescent Lodge staying in a cabin with my family. We had a lovely time until I twisted my ankle on a part of the bumpy old concrete path going back to our cabin before dinner and landed on my knee. It took ages for EMTS to arrive and while I lay on the ground the lodge manager came out then left again. My family had reservations for dinner in the lodge and the staff canceled the reservations and would not let us eat in the dining room. They had us pay over $100 for bar food that was not well cooked. My hamburger was red in the middle and my parent's fish and chips were terrible. No drinks were given. They made us feel like we had caused them a problem. The experience was so disheartening.
My advice to the staff: when an injury happens on your premises do everything possible to accommodate and comfort the guests impacted by the incident. Treat them with care and make them feel like they matter.
The lake was beautiful.
