Great discovery. Driving the shore road and came across Salt Creek RA. Intrigued by the military bunker. The campground looked nice, right on the water, pull-through spaces, open grass sites, very nice.
The bunker is an old coastal gun battery, ca 1940's. It's locked up for safety reasons, would be nice to offer tours. They did provide a lot of information and diagrams of the site, so it's a good learning experience.
It's the kind of place you need to plan on staying a while. Tent, trailer or RV, find a spot and set down for 3-5 days, enjoy the view, the water and the woods.
