Was able to book a site 5 days before camp, site 143 in the “Tree Loop”. As the name suggests, this area has more trees than the main loop. All of the sites are much smaller than most other state parks I’ve been to, and very close to each other. Even though there are trees or shrubs to delineate each site, you’re so close, you could clearly see & hold a conversation with your neighbors as if they were right next to you. And LOTS of road noise from the highway!

The bathrooms though dated, were clean. There is one shower each, for men & women. No coins needed, free.

The water access is the main attraction here, but it’s a hike to actually get in the water in the mud even at high tide.

Lots of families and dogs. Nice folks, quiet at night. Never seen such a patrolled park ever! The “armed” ranger presented himself at check-in and did a drive-by every hour all day.
