Made it to the trailhead at 6:30 on a Monday. The first 4 miles were easy and a nice warm up for the rest of the hike. From there you start picking up some elevation for the next 2 and a half miles, after you get a good pump going then you go come back down the mountain for a mile and walk through a pretty meadow on the way. 2 more miles from there to Marmot Lake. We extended the trip to Jade Lake and that was amazing! It took us 10 miles to get to the beginning of Marmot Lake. Marmot Lake is huge and very underrated with Jade being right there. Make sure to wear some hiking boots because the trail can get pretty rough at times. Actually saw some Marmots on the hike as well, I’ll be back again next year!
