This is our go-to place for camping, or even just to get out of the city for an afternoon picnic.

They have separate areas for camping and day visitors.

On the camping side, they have tent camping spots, yurts to rent, and even some r.v spots with hook-ups. There are several clean restrooms with reasonably priced showers that actually run hot water.

The staff are always friendly and helpful, and keep the campsites well maintained.

The camping area is kid - and dog friendly, and we've rarely encountered anyone unruly while staying there.

On the day-use side, there are many trails that lead to a two mile stretch along the Green River.

There, you can swim, float, or just lounge around, enjoy a cold beverage, and have a bite to eat.

You can float down the river to another great spot, but I don't recommend that unless you are good at kyacking or tubing. There is a trail along the river, or you can drive there.

Beware of screaming kids when the weather is good and the beach gets crowded. I shake my head every time, but to be honest, the scenery is more than worth it.

This park is also great in the winter, but I'll keep those details to myself , as I enjoy the serenity.
