I like this place. One thing to point out is if you are wanting complete solitude of hearing no cars, this place would not be for you. This sits right off highway 101. There are 16 campsites. They very in sizes. Not all have picnic benches. Some sites are ADA. This campsite has pit toilets and no potable water. There are some sites that would fit a pop up trailer or a small RV, and a small trailer. No big 5th wheels for sure. The pit toilets are less then attractive, there is some black mold on the side walls that are wood. That didn't bother us. There are a couple of trails that leed down to the Sol Duc River. When you get to the river its an only look how pretty it is and then head back to your camp. There is nowhere to really just hangout. There are lots of mosquitoes there. There were some sites that were not clean from previous campers as they left a big bag of garbage there in the bushes. You must pack out what you packed in. You could tell it was a family that had kids as there were juice boxes, diapers, fruit snacks that was strung from the critters getting into it. There are no garbage dumpsters at this campground. This campground is right by a very quaint local cafe called The Hungry Bear. We ate there on our last day and it was really good. They also sell ice and camp wood that is kiln dried. Lots of different birds to hear. Seen some eagles. However early mornings around 5:30am there is some strange bird that is extremely loud and wakes you up. We camped for 4 days and it happened everyday. Don't know what type of bird it was. But that was annoying for sure.
