Recently camped at this site with my boyfriend and had an eventful stay. The location was convenient, not far from Luray, offering great dining options nearby while feeling secluded enough for a camping experience. However, accessing the campsites was a surprise as they required an SUV, not mentioned on the website. Luckily, we had ours; otherwise, camping wouldn't have been possible.

Another setback was the damp firewood supplied, making it tricky to start a fire on the first night. Additionally, unexpected and disruptive sirens went off multiple times, disrupting our sleep.

Yet, amidst these surprises, a friendly cat graced us with its presence, making our camping trip memorable. The hot showers were a plus, but it's worth noting that the site is actually an hour away from Shenandoah National Park. So, if proximity to the park is a priority, this might not be your best bet.

So if you're up for a mix of adventure and unexpected furry friends, this could be an enjoyable camping spot.

P.S. Here’s some pictures of the cat. If you see him/ her , please be kind and give them lots of love and attention. He/she is the best kitty ever.
