Used to be military (had to have ID to get in gate), but on their page it appears they are now open to civilian as well?

We have stayed here numerous times over the years while visiting family nearby. It is quiet, but no one on site to help with issues on weekends or after hours. In fact, it is pretty much a ghost town at night. Nothing actually on site as far as gas, food, etc. No bathhouse or showers, although there is a gym somewhere nearby -- not sure if you can use those during work hours?? It is right off the interstate, however, so if you don't mind going offsite, there are restaurants, etc. nearby.

When we stayed, the rates were quite a bit lower; not sure if the lack of amenities and oversight -- and no sewer-- warrants $30. Good news is that we have never not found a site here, in spite of there being only 6 sites.

This is a great place for a quick overnight stop, right off the interstate.

However, if you are looking for a little more, the state park only a few miles away is gorgeous, has camp hosts to help with your needs, bathhouses/showers, and is competitive cost-wise.
