This park is kind of remote. Not much to do if you don't boat or bird. This is a big birder park. Took the bird boat tour which was nice, $7 each. This is the first of 7 AZ state parks we've been to in last 2 months that had state park police. Just one but still better than the rest. Took the Sonoita hike. You have to register for a permit to hike there so the rangers know how many people to look for if you get lost. River was too high and fast to ford due to recent rains so we had to turn around and come back. Don't camp by the visitors center because that is the tent area and they are very noisy. Fortunately they have police here. There is a mini mart here, not much, almost nothing fresh, and expensive. Also sell gas. $3.62 when it is $2.89 back by I10 but I filled up because there isn't another gas station for 30 miles.
