The road from Big Water, UT to the Alstrom Point is about 25mi. The first 23 miles is dirt road with minor potholes every once in a while. The last 2 miles is where it gets very rough. At the beginning of those 2 miles, there’ll be two paths to take, neither are easy going, but stay to the right, that’s the easier route. After that it’s just large rocks you have to crawl over. Took about 30 minutes to get through those 2 miles. 4WD is a must, as well as high ground clearance. For comparison, I met a stranger on that trail, and he made it in his Subaru Outback, just had to take it very slow and be strategic about where he was placing his tires. Keep an eye on the weather too, if it’s rained recently or the trail has water on it, don’t even think about it, you can get stranded out there. There is no cell signal unless you’re with Verizon. The view at the end was well beyond worth every second!
