Yep, it is indeed a special view. Even without the dammed water it would be awesome, but the reflections from the dammed water make it special. I had it all to myself on a Sunday afternoon in mid-December. Minimal wind.

My opinion on the last 2 miles: That first technical section is the biggest threat. I chose to park my 4x4 F150 and walk because I wasn't in the mood for a 3mph bouncy drive. If I was car camping I would've drove it. But after walking it, it wouldn't have been that bad of a drive except for that first part (you'll know what I'm talking about when you get 2 miles from the destination). And then there's a rocky patch after 1 mile that would take time, but there is a detour around some of it if you're looking. And that rocky patch isn't really a big threat unless you take a wrong approach. The walk was pretty & easy & peaceful. ... Also if you're driving the last 2 miles, realize there are some forks that aren't too obvious. So if you find yourself on a crazy path, look around because you might have detoured a bit from the easier path.
