The campsite was really beautiful. With a bit of work it could be five star location forsure. The things that could be improved are the cleanliness of the camp grounds, there was quite a bit of garbage and the outhouses needed some attention. It also would have been nice to have working water spickets but luckily I brought plenty of water.
The rock formations were very cool. I loved that you got to camp between the boulders. The campground is a good place to escape the Saint George Heat and its only an hour from Saint george so it makes for a quick and easy trip. Be warned there is no cellphone service there, the little valley blocks all signal beside GPS. Being disconnected from the world could be a blessing or a curse.
The campsite was pretty empty. There were maybe 5 family's camped there and another 4 at the lake.
The biggest downside to the campsite was the near by cows. They kept us up at night. I would have given the campground 4 stars if it weren't for the cows! There needs to be more cow proofing around the camp ground, that would help a bit. I stopped 6 cows from getting in the campgrounds by shining my flashlight at them as they attempted to get into the gate. I was unable to keep 2 out and it didn't really matter because the others shortly found another way to get in. The whole 17 hours we were there I had to scare cows out of our campsite 3 times.
Other than the cows there is lots of wild life, I saw some deer, Jack rabbits, lots of lizards and even a juvenil mountain lion! There are warning signs about rattlesnakes so be careful!
Over all I would camp there again.
