Sad place, I'm sorry to say. We were excited to have a lake nearby! [Note: the staff person was very friendly and helpful!]
The entrance fee is incredibly expensive. For what? We neither swam (not allowed anyways) nor went boating. We parked, walked a trail with our dog, and sat in our own camping chairs next to an old, metal picnic table. For a family of 6 (Dad, Mom, and 4 kids, plus dog) it was $50(!)
There is absolutely nothing outstanding about the environs and the "view" is unremarkable: the lake, the highway, and the dystopian looking power plant facility looking in the background--oy.
Bathrooms--dirty. Picnic tables--old and spotted with bird droppings. "Nature trail"--a cringy, cactus-lined dirt path that meandered near an old, creepy, decrepit building that was literally falling down. Aesthetic, this place is not.
I saw lots of boats. Maybe that is the appeal here but for a simple "day at the park" (in our case, just over 2 hours), $50 is ridiculous. Save your money.
