Our families experience with this facility has been nothing short of disconcerting. While initially creating an inviting atmosphere and making grand promises, this facility fails miserably in fulfilling its commitments. The behavior exhibited by both administrative staff and nurses towards patients is unacceptable; instead of providing a nurturing and supportive environment, they resort to belittling and berating residents. This conduct is not only highly unprofessional but deeply distressing for vulnerable individuals who deserve compassion and understanding.
Furthermore, we have observed numerous violations of doctor's orders at this facility. Patients are being asked to administer their own treatment without proper guidance or supervision. Calls for assistance are often disregarded or delayed, leaving patients in compromising situations such as being unattended while covered in urine or feces. Inexcusably, staff members have even instructed patients that their concerns will be addressed by the next shift instead of promptly resolving them.
One particularly alarming aspect is witnessing nurses engaging in arguments with patients rather than demonstrating empathy and patience. Such confrontations create an atmosphere devoid of respect and compromise the trust that should exist between caregivers and those under their care.
These examples merely scratch the surface of the numerous concerns I have encountered during my time at Blue Skies of Texas (East). It pains me to witness such improper or neglectful care being provided when residents should receive nothing less than dignified treatment characterized by utmost respect and compassion.
Given the severity of the situation, we felt compelled to file a formal complaint with the Texas Department of Health & Human Services. In conclusion, we strongly advise against considering this facility as a viable option for placing your loved one. The experiences we have witnessed at this facility are deeply troubling and highlight systemic failures in delivering adequate care. Instead, we encourage you to explore alternative options that prioritize dignity, respect, and comprehensive support for your loved ones.
We would be remised if we didn't say that not ALL nurses at the facility were bad - a handful of them were true professionals and offered true care and compassion towards the patient.
