Stop over at the Lost Dutchman State Park to do some hiking. The Siphon Draw Trail gets you up to several tack points. From there you can traverse over to the Flat Iron out crop. Wonder over to the Iron View Peak or continue to the Superstition Ridgeline Trail. The Siphon Draw Trail is not for the faint-of-heart hiker looking for a stroll in the park. While being short on distance it’s chucking full of combination terrain. Steep slope of loose debris followed up with slick rock and steep chunky scrambles. Expect to bear-crawl through the steep upper sections of the draw. I’ll spare you the gory metrics and just say. Pack a meal, water and expect a good several hours added to your plan. You maybe the type that flys up and down this kind of terrain or the type that sees the value on an injure-less adventure. With that in mind it’s a glorious view the entire way up and down the draw. You should feel quite happy with your achievement on finishing any section of this trail. Definitely one of the fun ones for the area.
