When we arrived, the property inside the fenced in area was not maintained. The grass was up to our knees. Very disappointing. We love to play outdoors but when you cant see if snakes or any other animals are hiding in the grass its not inviting. We did not spend any time out in the yard. There is a Huge Ant colony next to the barbecue. It needs to be maintained as well. If you arrive at night and you don't notice it, you will be spending the night in the hospital, especially if you have little ones running around they would be seriously injured!
As for the fire pit, there was no wood to burn. We did not bring any because the website says firewood is provided. So, we gather some twigs and had a 5 minute fire. Not happy! That's what being out there is for. Sitting under the stars with a fire! Not getting bit by huge ants and having no firewood.
The cabin itself was clean. There was trash outside in the big tin garbage can and trash in the bathroom. Website site says carryout your own trash.
There were many cob webs within the doors and windows. Which is common but if someone is maintaining the cabin when its not being used, there should be a little more care inside.
It was just my husband and I, we made it the best possible. Over all, we have rented other cabins and this one was just disappointing with the overall property upkeep.
