Call ahead before you drop your kayaks upstream to make sure the ramp isn't closed for a private party. We did that this past Saturday only to arrive to drop our downstream vehicle and discover it was closed to the public for the Redmon family reunion. They were big feeling sorts that felt like they also had the whole river rented out as well. I called the number for the campground and explained to the fellow on the phone the situation and he allowed me to park at the top of the big hill out of their way but is is a steep hill on loose gravel that is not fun to hike up after being on the river all day. To the owners, I suggest that in the future if you're going to rent out the lower campground you exclude the boat ramp area and the little turnaround area for it. There's plenty of room for the biggest of families there.
I'm still going to leave 5 stars because it is a nice campground and boat ramp and the owners maintain it well and did their best to accommodate my float party. The campground is out of the way and quiet. A bit on the primitive side as far as amenities but well maintained and with large camp sites right on the river.
