We originally booked our full hook-up camp site for a week-long stay in September back in May, and the purpose of our trip was ATV and motorcycle riding.

The Pros:

Heather is very nice and helpful, and offered us several tips for ATV rides and destinations. The store was very cozy and welcoming. The campground itself is in a great location for ATV trails and also accessing the scenic rides on the motorcycle. It is also a very quiet campground.

The Cons:

This campground allows for the on-site dissection of hunted animals and we found this out by coming back to OUR CAMPSITE one day after a ride. It was pouring down rain and as we arrived at our site, we saw an elk carcass and bloody pieces literally inches from our camper back door. There was no one around so I had to walk around knocking on doors to find out who this belongs to. I found the hunters and they agreed to move the carcass but only after laughing in my face and telling me "Well, I will move it but that's what you get for camping near the meat poles." We are not hunters and had no idea what the poles were for and I could not even comprehend that a campground would book a site to us (I called in May and shared our camper set-up and was told that site #24 was "the perfect spot") and then also allow for other campers to gut their animals IN OUR site. If this campground has hunters who feel strongly about gutting their animals in front of the other campers and campsite #24 is where the meat poles are located, they should reserve this site only to the hunters and also clearly disclose to other campers that you may end up having a front row seat in a slaughter house. We are not opposed to hunting, however, I am 100% opposed to paying over $500 for our campsite and then also having it serve as a place for hunters to gut their animals. And, only finding this out after a long day of riding and coming back to it in the pouring down rain. Additionally, the campground is cramped, with sites extremely close together, and the creek-side sites are awkwardly placed, and we ended up needing almost 40 feet of sewer hose to make use of the full hook-ups.

I really wanted to like this place because of how nice Heather is, and the location, but this whole experience described above ruined it for us.
