There Jack lake mountain bike trail is one of the best in the state. Rolling trail machine built through savanna openings, hardwoods and pine. Like traveling to 3 ecosystems on a bike rollercoaster.
I walked through this park on a quiet weekday while doing the Summit Moraine segment of the Ice Age Trail. It looked like a great place, especially the small beach area with lots of shade. There was a private camping operation, Jack Lake Camping, eith what I assume was a camp office/store and a County Park camping area as well. The county camping area had a new shower and bathroom facility. I appreciated the great light while I did a mid-hike tick check. The shelter for events at Veteran's Park seemed brand new. Unfortunately for me, the bathroom doors were locked. I was able to use the campground bathrooms as I continued my hike to an Arboretum Trail ( part of IAT), which lead to a few tiny lakes. All shaded, all piney. There were two different sets of playground equipment so this looks like it could be a great place for families. There was also a sand volleyball court. Nice tribute mural to honor our veterans. Too bad I was just passing through. Sorry I didn't take more pictures.
Clean park. The disc golf course was less to be desired. Horrible. But it was fun none the less! Beach was clean!
Good campsites on Jack Lake. Clean Bathrooms. Added bonus-- hiking trail around nearby Game Lake about a mile. Beautiful old Birch and Oak trees.
Fantastic campground. The family and I visit every year. The campground is always super clean and peaceful. There is a really nice beach and it is right next to jack Lake which is a beautiful Lake. There is also a lot of areas for picnics near the beach. I would definitely recommend choosing this campground over a lot of others.
