Happy Camper

We’re at this campground till least Sept 19th (2023) wife is a travel nurse we have seen our fair share of campgrounds and rv resorts. This Location is perfect, just off hwy 35. Close to stores and Story City is a throwback to what small town U.S.A. Looks like. Campground is well groomed & clean. Sites are roomy and the pull through sites are east to get in to, we’re 62 ft long with truck and toy hauler hooked up and we slid right in with no issues.. owners are quick to reply and are easy to deal with and try to help anyway they can, which is rare these days. Traffic noise from hwy is nonexistent. This campground is def one to check out for a night / a week or longer..

The campsites were well kept. It’s a good campground if you have everything you need in your camper. But it’s not a good campground if you have a travel camper or a tent. Their is people who live onsite and they don’t keep up on the bathroom. I had to bring in my own toilet paper and paper towel. I got there on a Friday the trash was full then, and wasn’t changed ALL weekend. And all there was for a fire was a round metal ring so you had nothing to cook your food over a fire. And not even all the campsites had the fire ring. I stayed at a state campsite a couple weekends before for the same price…no one lived on site but the bathrooms were kept up, ALL the campsites had a fire pit with a cooking grate over it, and they delivered firewood to your site for a fee…ALL of that for the same price as this place.

A great, long term, full hook ups or electric only, open year round campground! Office is a self serve, fill out paper with payment, can text the owner and responds quickly. Really nice owner, will work with you easily and address anything that is possible. Beautiful shaded on some spots but not all. Has a few pull thru spots. Has fire rings and some spots have picnic tables. From our spot we enjoyed seeing all the deer everyday. A heads up though, if you have Verizon services, you will have spotty service. ATT services works great. Convenient to a good dollar store, Casey's, Kum & GO and nice Antique mall. Also, if you drive West out of town there is an awesome farmers market right on 69 hwy just outside of the town. Fresh veggies, cheese, spices and wine. We would completely recommend staying long term or short term at this campground.
