Very nice place but the food was completely undercooked (coconut shrimps were rare). They try to fix it, but then everything was - guess what ... .
Reasonable rates, wonderful Park Host, pet-friendly, great location for off-roaders & paramotorists, beautiful scenery
Spent three months here (December 2016 through February 2017) in a 34 ft motor coach. The monthly rate is very reasonable and hard to beat. The Park's Host is a wonderful fellow - very friendly and always on the ball. Several improvements were made during our stay including the installation of street lights through out the park. Restrooms are cleaned regularly and kept stocked. On site laundry is fairly cheap and includes an outdoor clothesline for those who prefer air dry over mechanical dry. Sites are medium sized (see included photo) and can easily accommodate the largest rigs with room for outdoor seating (most, if not all, have a picnic table). Park is pet-friendly with plenty of area to walk Fido. The location is great if you are into off-roading or paramotoring as off-road trails are easily accessible and the park has an airstrip for the paramotorists. During the week, it is usually very quiet and peaceful. Lastly, the scenery around the park is beautiful with the Chocolate Mountains on one side and the Santa Ana Mountains on the other side. We loved it here and will definitely stay here again next time we are in Southern California.
Note: wifi, digital TV signal, and cellular phone reception can be spotty at times - this area might have a shifting dead zone as reception was an ongoing issue during the entire length of our stay.
We just drove to the beach but lots of people were driving dune buggies and parasailing. I collected some fish bone sand. This was my first trip to Salton Sea. Even in January@ 55f the smell is pretty bad. No boats anywhere.
Funny place, sunny most of time, long beach where a lot of people take off and land in paramotor.
Camping full hook up not really expensive.
Restaurant with a variety of things to eat
The canyons where you can go with atv or utv a d the truck haven park are 10 minutes to go from here.
The staff was very friendly and prompt. We ate breakfast and it was great!!! My eggs were cooked perfectly over medium. Nice menu, We will be back.
