We camped at the Valley Forge Campground, but we came here on a day hike. They have a nice, refreshing stream, which is very good for purifying water, multiple benches, and signs, signs of civilization. The reason I rate this a four star is because I ALMOST got bitten by a baby rattlesnake here.
When you start the trail there's a service road don't take that trail the trail when I went wasn't marked well. Go on all trails to find updates on it. Shady campground, it's a five-mile hike to the campground. The trail switchbacks decending a 1000ft with no shade at the bottom there is a creek bed but there's no water. Once you hit the bottom of the canyon there is shade. The trail is not maintained.
Beautiful campground, Worth the long hike to get too. I was the only one there so I had the whole place to myself.
