This recreation area is part of Greers Ferry Lake
Beautiful park love it except the kids playground needs a update. The slides and steps are to high for kids asking for injury's.
I love fishing at this park that’s why it’s so hard to give just two stars. But for some reason there is some night fishermen who use the bench by the boys and girls club who DO NOT clean up after themselves. Please clean up after yourself I would like to use the bench for what it was made for TO SIT ON. PLEASE DO NOT CUT YOUR FISH ON BENCH!!!!! Once it dries it nasty and leaving fish on dry land to die is horrible. If you don’t want them throw them back or DONT fish. I apologize for the long review in the venting I’m just tired of people trashing up the park.
Had lunch in vehicle from Huckleberry field parking lot overlooking lake and the geese gliding through the water. Joggers/walkers utilizing the walking trails around Lake. Relaxing.
Vomit on the trail. Not clean. Not a place for small dogs. They need a trail to walk like the big dogs, without problems
I gave it a 3 because I like secluded area and how it’s cozy. This is one is not just wide open like Ben geren. I do love the openness of having different areas to play on and a mini park. The scenery of the water is very calming and and landscape makes it a peaceful place to come and relax a little or read a book. My kids always have fun and they enjoyed their time there as usual. Unfortunately they do have a lot of upkeep to do to the most visited kids play area. It is extremely dangerous right now and I’m actually unsure why they still have the park open due to the circumstances of the play equipment. It is a lawsuit waiting to happen or more importantly a huge accident/ multiple accidents waiting to happen! As a citizen I am concerned why we would choose to spend our tax dollars on opening a new skate park (adjacent to this one) when we could have funded that money into repairs and upkeep to this one and might I over mention that this one is the most visited and played on for a wide age range. Also one picture looks like a piece of pipe is coming out of the ground and it is by the entrance… it has been there for months. My kid and myself has tripped over it, not place you would initially notice.
