Only 4 stars because the wind was atrocious and we had the tent only sites that are on the ledge right next to the lake. Which is a great view but makes the wind 10x worse than the other sites. Beautiful view and we caught a mirror carp which was interesting.

Stayed here mid/late April. Great campground.

If you like to explore here's a few tips.

If you go down to the boat ramp. To the right you can go over to the rock cliff but it's spider hatching season and they are flying all over there.

If you have dogs , beware there's sticklers everywhere , even on the beach.

I think to the left of the boat ramp is better.

Great site overlooking the water. We visited in early April and the water was off, so top off your tanks / water carriers before going. Awesome views of the lake, would be fun visit when it was a bit warmer.

For a state campground, I loved that the spots aren't as packed together as they often are. Nice to have a little breathing room and not be right on top of neighbors. Vault toilets kept clean and supplied with hand sanitizer. Good compensation for lack of natural shade by providing a pavilion over picnic table at each site. Not something you can plan, but we also had the most stunning sunset while there. ❤️

Water was really low and lots of bugs. The campground is well maintained and nice. Lots of fun ATV trails. Dog friendly but have to be on a leash. Pit toilets, but cleaned daily.
