Great stop for a week in our summer road tour. Camp host is super friendly and flexible. No running water so you'll have to bring your own in. It is right in between 82 and the river so there is some road noise but it settles down at night. The sites on the back side are definitely quieter. Twin Lakes is a sweet little town and really beautiful.
Nice campground, we camped on the south side over the bridge in 2018. 24 ft bumper pull. Nice and quiet and plenty of places to wander around.
Our new fav 1st come 1st serve campground. 80% tents & small pop-ups due to Independence Pass size regs, & campground has no water. Rustic & magical. Plenty of space between campsites and there's quite a row of them next to the roaring Twin Lakes Creek, which looks & sounds more like a river.🌊 No bugs in June. Will return.
Very beautiful campground. There are 33 sites, all of which are first come first served. The sites to the North are beside a road so you will hear some traffic on that side. On the south side there is a mighty rushing creek close by. The rushing creek is just beautiful. It makes a nice roar which you can easily hear from some of the south sites. Our kids loved playing down in the creek.
On the south side there are also some very scenic views of the Twin Peaks and the creek.
There are restrooms scattered throughout but there’s no running water anywhere. No power hookups but you can run your generator during the day, until 10 PM.
The camp hosts (Bob & Carol) were very nice and helpful. They do a wonderful job of maintaining everything. If you’re coming on a weekend, make sure you pick a spot early because it can fill up very quickly in the afternoon.
