Mixed feelings. The campground itself is great. Great spots right near the water. Now on the other hand. It is right on the thistledew state ATV trail which is the only reason we went there. As we were creeping back to our site at 7PM after a long day of riding we arrived to the campground host running out and start yelling at us to "turn around and get out of here, no atvs" naturally we were shocked that the campground right on the trail wouldn't allow atvs to drive them directly to their campsite. After 5 minutes listening to the old man frantically treating us like criminals I just backed down the road and parked it which seemed like a mile away in the picnic parking lot. The host is too old and crabby to be a good host, he should be removed along with the rule of no ATV's. It would be a 5 star for me without those 2 things.

We've been going here for over 10 years. Everyone, both children and adults, love it. You can pitch your tent right next to the water. Big lake. Pure water. Pine forest. We are always happy to return here.

Nice lake, rustic campsites, boat landing. Nature walks and a horse camp a couple miles away.

I've been camping here for 30 years. It's a nice clear lake with some fish. It's shallow in front of the campground and the kids can swim from most of the lake sites. Keep a clean camp or bring a dog with to deter fairly regular bear visits. It's nice that wheelers aren't allowed in the campground. We leave ours wheelers out in the parking lot. We live 10 min away and trailer over just to ride the nice trails .
