Welcome to The Hitching Post RV Park & Tiny Home Village located in the heart of the Ozarks!
Newly renovated in the spring of 2022 in order to provide a special place for the families traveling to Ava for a temporary visit or to call home for a long term stay or by the month. The park has full hook ups, level sites, and a laundry & shower room for all those traveling through the area or staying awhile. The grounds of The Hitching Post RV Park are beautifully situated 4 miles north of Ava on HWY 5.

I have stayed here for over four months remodeling the Walmart in town. So Walmart and town is only 3.6 miles. I travel a lot with my work and this is absolutely the best place I’ve stayed.
I have a 44 ft camper and had no trouble getting it in. Campground is laid out well for larger campers. Owners are constantly keeping it clean and mowed.
Wifi has full signal across the campground. I’ve had no issues with it at all.
Owners are wonderful Christain people and they will bend over backwards to make you feel at home. They have made my stay here a pleasure.
I feel as if I’ve made new friends during my stay here.

After transferring to the area for work I found this site to set up home until we can find a house. I have been here almost 2 months and love it. It is very clean and quiet and the managers are very friendly. I have enjoyed staying at this location and would recommend it to anyone who needs long term RV or Camper sites or if you are coming to the area for the foxtrotters or just to escape to for a few days to take in the the beautiful scenery, this RV park is has very competitive prices. It has a few amenities such as wifi and they just broke ground on wash house and bathrooms. they are pet friendly, which we love. I was told by a couple other places that we couldn't have our Pyrenees but The Hitching Post had no issues with him. I would give them five stars all day long. Great little RV Park!
Definitely a good experience! I am doing an extended stay at the Hitching Post while waiting for my home to be completed. I am semi familiar with campers and how they work but certainly needed help along the way. Dayna kept in contact with me and made sure I was well taken care of in order to make sure my camper was prepared for the freezing temperatures etc.. Her husband Marty and two sons, Camdon and Carson so kindly took time from their schedule to level my camper as it was not balanced and was causing some frustration. They take excellent care of the grounds which make the already beautiful setting even more enjoyable! Other campers have been respectful and cordial with my privacy being well respected. Staying at the Hitching Post has made waiting for my permanent housing so much easier and enjoyable than I thought possible.
We have been here for 2 weeks so far and we are loving it. The managers are great. The park is relatively quiet with not a whole lot of traffic. There aren't a lot of amenities but apparently more is coming soon - I think that with the addition of a laundry room, this place will be excellent! Close to Walmart and downtown Ava. Relatively close to Hwy 60 as well - easy to get to everywhere we need to be.
Small, family owned campground. Basic amenities and friendly personal service. Located between Mansfield and Ava, Missouri. Extended stay available. They are currently working on new restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities.
