About Campground

Primitive roadside sites offer nice views, solitude, and a small flat gravel space to set up camp next to your vehicle. No shade, toilets, or other amenities are provided. The use of generators is prohibited in the backcountry.

River Road is maintained for high clearance vehicles only. After rains, River Road and Solís access road are extremely muddy and may quickly become impassable to all vehicles. 4-wheel drive may be required.

A Backcountry Permit is required to use any backcountry campsite.

Directions

Solís campsites are located along River Road East, 13.7 miles from the main paved road to Rio Grande Village. There is a 1.7-mile-long river access road. SO-1 and SO-2 are along the access road.

This is an amazing camping spot! Be aware, there are 2 or 3 camping spots, and if you want this one, be sure to ask for the one closest to the river! This is Rio Grand access! From her you can walk in the river, it’s less than knee deep. Listen to the soothing sound of the river flowing all night! I can’t say enough about this great location! The campsite is about 50ft from the river.
