The highways to Lake Jacksonville are west side of lake, follow 79W to FM747. East side of lake, take College Avenue (past Lon Morris College) to concession area (about 3 miles). For other southeast areas, follow S. Bolton to FM 347 and then continue on FM2138.
Nice park. Fishing pier. They have Chick-fil-A on location
Great place for a picnic, barbecue, and to launch your boat for a cruise around the lake.
Rented out one of their RV sites. Beautiful lake with nice homes along it. Wish we could've stayed longer.
Very pretty area but a very disappointing experience. We enjoyed our short time there for the most part, except for all the rule breakers & the fact that the facilities seem to be very neglected. Screens ripped open - cobwebs galore - no hand soap in the bathroom - bathroom doors don’t lock - shower was filthy.
We were supposed to stay two nights but decided to leave when our electricity went out and there wasn’t anybody manning the phones on Saturday to help us. The breaker box was fine, the issue was with the broken reset button on the plug.
It’s a nice piece of property for RVing but we won’t be back until some overdue maintenance is done & they create a job position for somebody to enforce public safety rules.
Avoid shelter #7 until they fix the outlet & if you don’t want to sleep with mosquitoes.
