Beautiful, and not too busy. Perfect place to go rafting, chill on the beach, or even catching toads. The sand is very soft/fine and great for building sand castels. Sand gets extremely hot in summertime, and water is freezing when it's not summer. Bathrooms are often nasty, just hold your breath the whole time. Lots of wildlife around such as beavers, deer, mountain goats, and more. Campsites you can spend the night it, they do now cost money. Please pack out your trash and keep the noise down late at night out of respect for others. You don't want to be "those people".
This area is beautiful. We didn't get in the water but it's gorgeous. We went on a hike across the street from beach up into the valley a ways. It was very peaceful and quiet. It's primitive with no markings but you can clearly see where the path is. There's free range castle in there too so watch where your step or you might smell funny.
Stumbled upon this campground and stayed for 3 nights. Beautiful scenery, great hiking, wildlife right in front of us (beaver, deer, lizards) the river is refreshing but powerful.. can't go out too far or you'll be pulled into the current. We had a great time and will definitely be returning!
Mesmerizing landscapes, clean trails, plenty of kayaking to be done!
Enjoy a nice cooked meal over a campfire, listening to all creation around you.. mhm how abundant life can be if you just lend a listening ear 😉
What a gorgeous place to camp with the dogs..oh and the stars.. best to go during a new moon for the best stargazing experience!!
This area is about a quarter mile to a half from the main beach. What an absolute treasure!
It's a good price at $15 a night. If the campsites up front are full, keep driving, you'll find more. My only complaint is the trees rain down a ton of fluffy seeds and there are a lot of big ants.
