Very good location. Pet friendly, swimming pool and shade! Well kept, clean and friendly. Close to Walmart and a variety of other stores, gas stations, pawn shop and restaurants. Nice community. Glad we decided to stay here.
Waited 5 mo. deciding if I should write a review that was negative, waited to be sure it was not written with frustration or anger.
I moved my newer RV (in excellent condition) to this location in June, 2022 and stayed until August, 2023, kept my space very clean and neat.
Similar issues as others:
1) Porta potty's were VERY close to my RV (they smelled foul, often)... mail packages stolen, no use of clubhouse, washers n dryers usually broken.
2) Rent always paid early, for 12 mo. On my 13th mo. payment due was on a Sat. Office was closed for some reason, also closed Sun. & Monday was a holiday. Tues. am I left for work at 6am, got home at 3pm ready to pay rent to discover a note taped to my door, threatening to tow my RV, was fine to pay a 2 day late fee, but it was handled SO unprofessionally.
3) THIS PART WAS BEYOND ACCEPTABLE... I went away on vacation June 9 and apparently a HUGE round 15ft oak tree limb fell on my roof, June 10th and smashed roof in. (found out later that a kind neighbor taped a tarp over it, but it was very water damaged)
NO CONTACT FROM MGMT and my RV was literally the 2nd one from office and they knew! Finally, June 20th (10 days later...with water damage and rainstorms) Mgmt called and left a message for me to call. The call went right to voicemail and I did not see the voicemail. On June 29 there was a bad storm noted on the news so I called the office on June 30th and asked if my RV was okay...... that is when they finally told me about the damage, causing my RV to be "Totaled" due to water damage. I did have insurance, but it only covers 70%, and RV prices went up too much to get a replacement, took my losses and moved on.
I LOVED IT THERE WITH OLD MGMT, and neighbors were kind people!
No bashing is my intent, that is why I waited to post... no anger.
Just EXTREEMLY DISSAPOINTED WITH MGMT, LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM AND RESPECT.
That was my experience at Suncoast RV Resort.
Stayed here a week.
First the positives:
Very quiet at night & most of the daytime.
Feels lush & natural with lots of trees.
The rates were reasonable.
Kathy in the office was very sweet.
The regional manager returned my call after I left a voicemail on a Sunday saying I was on my way but didn't have a confirmation email. Found that my email address was spelled wrong & resent it.
Great nature walks & bike trail within 20 mins.
Negatives:
Tight roads between rows of sites.
Sites (at least the pull-throughs) were short & narrow. Very difficult to maneuver into my spot. Tow vehicles & cars parked side by side with trailers making it cramped.
Wi-Fi was non-existent, even with 3 sources they were too weak to connect & too slow to load anything off you could connect.
Raised concrete pad for outdoor rec area was a problem positioning the trailer on the tight limited space just so, to be able to have the stairs find down completely & not obstruct the door closing.
I've spent about 4 months at Suncoast RV Resort in Port Richey and based upon my experience, I believe some of the previously posted harsh reviews were either unreasonable or perhaps out of date (based upon past conditions).
Let's get the subtle "gripes" out of the way (why I gave the place 4/5 stars).
I believe the company that manages the property overall does not put their time, effort, or money into updating the place, record keeping, or accounting.
They have a hokey policy of ONLY allowing you to pay using a card... and then they FORCE you to pay something like 3% as a service charge... for using a card... which is the ONLY way they allow you to pay. 🤔
They could either wave that fee (seeing as how they are already making a nice profit on the site rent) or perhaps allow customers to pay with cash, check, cashier's check, etc. Maybe set up online payments - without the imposed surcharge?
In fact, I called Gemstone (the "managing" company of this property) and got some lady on the phone who was in her car with the windows open - instead of an office or something more "established". Hmmm
OK, that's out of the way. Let's get to the reason they get the 4 stars - the on-site staff, local manager, and grounds crew.
The people who work locally at this park do everything they can to be friendly, fair, accommodating, etc. They're doing a great job with what Gemstone gives them to work with.
The property management company (owners) really need to step up and put some money back into this property which had SO MUCH potential.
The temporary bathroom and showers are in good shape (although I never needed them because I used my Airstream's bathroom), but they SHOULD either tear down the dilapidated clubhouse and build a new one OR update the existing.
Location though... that is definitely a plus. Up and coming downtown New Port Richey is minutes away with vibrant nightlife, live music, festivals, restaurants, breweries, etc.
There is a BEAUTIFUL park right behind Suncoast called Warner-Boyce where you can hike, kayak, fish, bird watch, etc.
And, shipping is nearby as well. A large Walmart is almost directly outside the entrance of the resort. This park is convenient to everything.
Mostly snowbirds and quiet older people so you can walk safely at night and you'll have no trouble getting a peaceful night's sleep.
I recommend the place and would stay there again.
Laundry facilities are good bathrooms available on site. Some mornings are a bit noisy with dogs barking. Is very quiet at night, easy to sleep. The office manager is friendly, but they do not hold packages.
