From jct US 287 & Hwy 789: Go 1/2 mi S on US 287/Hwy 789.
Stumbled upon this site because we needed a stop in between Denver and Yellowstone.
Really lovely, well-kept site with very clean showers and toilets! And a lovely lady (perhaps the owner?) at reception.
We really appreciated that the stay was good value too.
Enjoyed the park. It has great bathrooms and shower combinations. A great area for dogs. The only negative was that we were put in a site that was very muddy with new sod that was too uneven to walk when there were other better sites avaliable.
Do not let the cluttered appearance at the entrance scare you off. Once in your space you will experience a clean, well maintained, quiet park. The views are beautiful! Also, do not miss Sinks State Park if you have a day to enjoy in the area!
Good: So it is under new management so hopefully soon all issues can be addressed. Very nice family working hard to see their dreams come true. They have a splash pad and park. Clean showers/ restroom
Bad: tiny site, hookups on the wrong side for a back in (they do provide free of charge extensions)
Not a lot of shade but clearly they are trying.
Construction going on right outside of the park so not the easiest to get in right now.
We stayed here 3 nights while exploring the area on our way north. The park is very clean with helpful, friendly staff. The entrance is easy to miss when coming from the north. You actually turn in -by the Hitching Post Restaurant - south of the park. The park sits on a bluff above the city, giving nice views of town - especially if you have one of the back-in sites BB-3 - BB-9. We had a pull through site GB-1 which had a nice view when BB 6, 7 or 8 were vacant. There are trees in the pull-through sites, but not in the BB sites. Sites are level and gravel. Easy to get into. Bathrooms were individual complete bath setups with a toilet, sink and showers in one room. Laundry was onsite as well. And they have a small camp store. We have a 36' fifth wheel.
