Two adjacent sites on Silver Creek near Highway 93, downstream of the Nature Conservancy’s Silver Creek Preserve. Silver Creek offers good trout fishing, picnicking and camping. Long camp trailers or RVs not recommended, limited turn around options.
Off Highway 93 about 5 miles south of Carey, 16 miles northeast of Richfield, and 34 miles northeast of Shoshone. A BLM sign on Highway 93 marks the turn. The recreation sites are about one mile from the intersection. Long camp trailers or RVs not recommended, limited turn around options.
Nice managed campground. Plenty of campgrounds to pick from of various sizes from small single tent sites to large RV or multi-family sites. All with Forestry Service approved fire pits, picnic tables & a stove table.
Couple public bathrooms which were VERY VERY clean and up kept. They even had quality toilet paper and not cheap government issue toilet paper you normally find in public restrooms.
Drinkable water facets equally distributed around the campground, usually next to the bathrooms, and there was a RV hookup for filling water.
No power; but you are camping, you shouldn't need power.
Paved road around the campground, so dust is minimal. Great for the kids to bike on and such with parent supervision.
Tons of hiking trails in the area. The creek was cool and clean, with many places to enjoy the water and fish.
Silver Creek Plunge, which is a privately owned/managed hot spring, is a 5 min walk away from most of the campground.
Bring wood! Bring sunscreen/shade, as some sites do have more exposure than others.
They DO accept reservations, which if you're in need of the larger sites, I would highly suggest doing.
It’s a decent environment but the cabins are complete trash, beds must had been 20 year old at least and collapsing and the smell was horrible. The hot springs were more like warm springs. Over all I’d say I had a better experience just camping outside of silver creek campgrounds, there’s some great free spots around the area.
When I think of idaho and it's special places, silvercreek plunge is the first to come to mind. The road up definitely makes you earn your visit, but when something is earned, you appreciate it more!
Love this camp ground. Access to Hot springs is nice. Just hanging out on the creek was really relaxing.
