Nice views from this remote site, especially the night sky, and there is very little traffic. Robbers Roast has a bear proof storage box.
Robber’s Roost is located along the Juniper Canyon Road via the Glenn Spring Road. Juniper Canyon Road begins 6.8 miles from the junction of the Glenn Spring Road and the main road to Rio Grande Village.
Camped here in Feb. 2018 on my very first visit to Big Bend. It was a spectacular spot and will try to stay there again in the future. I love this national park. If you love solitude and huge barren landscapes (and by barren, I don't mean uninteresting) then this place will speak to you.
If you’re looking for seclusion this is the place to be. Definitely need ground clearance and 4WD to get here though. It’s a slow drive in. Probably an hour or so from an improved road. Area was nice, had a bear box to keep your food and three spots to setup tents. Stayed 5 days and the only people we saw was the rangers came by twice to check on us.
Great site, flowers in spring are the best. Ocotillos were the best I’ve ever seen. Did see the rock rattler and a tarantula just outside the site, watch your step.
