Come to make connections….Maybe you need a place to slow down, to clear your head, commune with nature, or talk and walk with other folks. We think Pinecrest is your place whether you are with a group or joining us by yourself. Just inside our gates, tall pines line the road that leads to home-cooking and comfortable rocking chairs, to a huge swimming pool and comfortable beds, to miles of hiking trails and civil war history, to our group initiatives course and mud-pit. Pinecrest Camp and Retreat Center is conveniently located 35 minutes east of Memphis, TN, and just over an hour west of Jackson, TN. Host to summer camp options for kids of all ages, family and business retreats, weddings, and other special events– Pinecrest offers something for everyone.
In 1962, the Presbytery of Memphis– now the Presbytery of the Mid-South(Presbyterian Church, U.S.A.)– purchased hundreds of acres in LaGrange, TN. The intention was to build a place set apart for Christian Education and fellowship, a place where people of all ages could stop to listen for God. Decades later, Pinecrest still lives into that mission, welcoming absolutely everybody. Truly. Everybody.
This is a great place for team, family, and school outings to gain exposure to the outdoors, enjoy camping, and get some open air exercise. On 2/7/15 we took a group of children from Brewster Elementary school on an outing here. The weather cooperated with just the right temperature for a trail walk, trail talks, campfire cooking, wildlife discussion, and free-for-all play on the camp's playground. This particular location is East of Memphis off of Hwy 57 near Moscow. Although a rural area, there is plenty to appreciate about the drive over (more later) and if you are looking for a good smoked turkey sandwich, stop on your way there at the local bbq restaurant. It was quite pleasant. The site is convenient to get to and holds plenty of options for the children and adults to enjoy.
We did the mini camp twice last summer because he loved it so much. The first time he didn’t know anyone but ended up making a lot of friends and having a blast. The second time he knew a lot of kids and had a blast that time as well. This is a great, affordable camp that reminds me of what camp is supposed to be like. Not a bunch of expensive crazy stuff, just good community and lots of fun
Staff was beyond accommodating and polite! Food was wonderful! Great place to have a school/work retreat. The only things I wasn’t thrilled about was the mold smell in one of the cabin’s bathrooms and the amount of dead spiders in the corners- BUT I would MUCH rather have dead spiders over love ones! I definitely hope to go back here again!
Excellent place for a retreat and has a full commercial kitchen with walk-in fridge and freezer. Overall, A little dated and could use some upgrades. However, off the beaten path and quiet beautiful wooden campus.
Super nice and helpful staff. Accommodations were clean and cozy. Any issues were addressed immediately by camp personnel. Love this place!
