About Campground

Warm showers and flush toilets

This activity or structure is ADA accessible.

A 70-site tent and trailer campground is located along PA 154, one mile east of the park office. Half of the campsites have electric hookups.

Water and shower houses are within a short distance of all sites.

A sanitary dumping station is available for emptying travel trailer holding tanks.

Pets are permitted at designated sites.

The campground is closed in the winter.

The 19 rustic cabins are available for rent year round. Rentals are for one week periods during the summer, and two-night minimum stays in the off-season.

Organized Group Tenting

Qualified, non-profit, organized groups can camp in the rustic group tenting area year-round.

Directions

Family Campground: Starting September 19, 2022 State Route 154 between the park office and the family campground will be closed for ongoing maintenance. Please report to the campground and not the park office for your reservation. Any campers coming to the campground by State Route 154 East or State Route 87 North will need to detour around the closure by taking State Route 87 North to Dushore, US Route 220 South to Laporte, and State Route 154 West to the campground. Campers coming from US Route 22 North or South should take State Route 154 West in Laporte to the campground. Please call the park office at 570-924-3287, or via email at [email protected], if you have questions.

First time visiting, and pictures itself can not describe the scenery! There were picnic areas along the riverbank, trails to walk, certain areas designated for camping, a beach side to safely swim, if taking a chance on the flowing riverbank side was not your cup of tea and snack shop to get food, drinks and ice cream. Attached to the shop were bathrooms that also provided changing areas. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful park. The drive to the summit is really adventurous during winter, be careful. I took my Tucson, no issues; missed my Subaru. Definitely will come back during spring or fall.

This is my favorite place to go! There is no cell service or internet! You are forced to unplug. My husband & I relax and unwind here. Listening to the water flowing in Loyalsock Creek, the rain or wind in the trees,...just the quietness of nature really is so peaceful. We enjoy having a campfire or a fire in the wood stove. The cabins are spotless. My husband & I work a lot, so often we will just go to W.E.S.P. for 2 nights during the Fall or Winter just to relax on our days off. This is my home away from home.

This park is all about the natural world. Lush vegetation that sprawls up the mountains, various floral and mushroom growth, crisp springs to swim in, designated pool area, waterfalls, bridges, rock formations, stony shoreline, sandy bottom, well crafted and spacious pavilions under the treetops, plenty of shade, and small critters roaming the grounds make it an excellent destination spot. There is a concession stand also for snacking convenience and park rangers surveying activity. T he cabins are quaint and conveniently located within walking distance to the restrooms, visitors' center, and playgrounds, with river and creek accessibility. It is probably the most relaxing park I've been to in several years.
