About Campground

An overnight backpacking campsite is available on our eight-mile backpacking trail. This hike-in campsite located on the Overnight Trail, which is accessed by hiking the Byrd Creek Trail. The Overnight Trail is a six-mile loop through the forest, rated moderate to difficult. You should be prepared to cross a swinging bridge and several creeks and streams. This is a primitive site. Please practice Leave No Trace. Please make your reservation online or by calling the park office. These sites are undeveloped, but most will have a fire ring. Hiking is required to reach the campsite and most do not have potable water. Water must be filtered from natural sources or carried in. Please allow enough time to reach your destination in daylight.

Always a wonderful stay. First time staying in one of the cabins, great for a small group, miss the back country site though. Homestead Harvest Restaurant was amazing as usual.
