Located at Swamp Wells, the horse camp offers access to three northbound trails and one southbound trail.
4 miles south of Bend, take China Hat Road (18) 6 miles southeast to Bessie Butte, then 6 miles south on Forest Road 1810, and then 3 miles east on Forest Road 1816. Last mile of road is rough and may be difficult for larger trailers.
Very remote, you'll need some clearance to get to the horse camp, deep ruts on the way in. There's no way you're getting a trailer up there.
The stalls are surprisingly in good shape, both metal and wood.
